Missed the Point?

Does it appear we are missing the most important single fact in the topical carbon tax debate?  Australia’s head of state is the Queen and the Australian PM must follow her lead – that is, unless we become a Republic and make our own decisions (thus bypassing too the Queen’s agent in Australia, the Governor-General).
The Queen has been urging the United Nations (and the rest of the world) to put a tax on carbon and participate in an emissions trading scheme.  We are already struggling to rebuild following devastating floods, let alone pay more tax.  End of story.
