What do you do if governments ignore previous governments’ promises to the people? Can you take them to court and sue them for breaking the law? Or was it just an empty promise and never a written law in the first place?
I mistakenly thought all pensions were secure as long as you were entitled to them and that they would be adjusted annually according to the annual Cost of Living Index. Fancy words, but did they ever mean anything?
This so-called ‘Carbon Tax Bonus’ for pensioners to help with the expected rises in power prices is being at least 50 per cent funded by no increases in their own pensions for the next financial year. Don’t believe me? Do the maths yourself. If you don’t have access to the Cost of Living Index, use last year’s increases. We all know the cost of living has risen since then. The figures would not be exact but they would prove 50 per cent is an extremely modest estimate for a single pensioner.
I feel so sorry for people in other countries who are prepared to die to become a democratic nation. Government of the people, by the people, for the people no longer exists in countries like Australia. I used to think that was what democracy was all about.
The recent increase in natural disasters, famines and diseases, plus the widening gap between the rich and the poor all point to the end of the world being closer than you think.
Thank God I won’t be standing in a politician’s shoes when I stand before God to be judged on Judgement Day. I am no saint, but I do try to be honest and live by the old rule of “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”.
