I presume Steven Harrison’s letter “Real Australians reject a republic” (SFT, January 26) is not entirely genuine and is indeed looking for a “bite”. Steven knows very well it is appropriate that we become a republic and hopefully before the Queen suggests it. We don’t want to be like the 40-year-old son that won’t leave home, do we?
And to all the moody boys and girls who keep writing in to have a shot at Julia, brace yourselves, because she will win the next election. This country is not going to go back in time to satisfy the weak and wistful.
