Carbon correction

While I respect the right of Viv Forbes (letter of July 4) to present an opinion on the carbon tax, though it just proves he does not understand how the tax will promote changed behaviour of many large carbon users, I do object to the inclusion of a denier’s lie about carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is indeed a pollutant and has repeatedly been scientifically proven to be a major influence on the world’s climate. Current levels of about 50 per cent more than historic levels have been shown to already produce significant climate change. Even more will produce greater changes. Ignoring the problem or denying that it even exists, will not make it go away.
