Attention on the wrong things

I am intrigued. I have seen our media attention with a high degree of focus on ‘Why did we not win more gold medals at the Olympics’ and things like the equine flu virus a couple of years ago. However, there is no coverage of why there is a new diabetes diagnosis every five minutes in Australia and the greatly increasing cancer rates.
Could it be that the latter requires us to examine how we are living while the former allows us to look outside of ourselves. Does this not challenge us?
