Credit where due

I refer to the story on Clifton auxiliary fire station and fire services in the Darling Downs region (New Base – 20 Sep 2012).
Since the election, Minister for Community Safety, Jack Dempsey, has never missed a chance to take credit for projects initiated by the previous Labor Government.
Replacement of the Clifton auxiliary fire station was announced by Minister Neil Roberts in June 2011. Funding of $1.3 million was allocated in the 2011-12 State Budget to start the replacement of the auxiliary fire and rescue station at Clifton.
This was part of a $15.2 million program to replace or redevelop 13 fire stations across Queensland.
Newman Government funding for facilities and appliances is just a continuation of important capital investment that the previous Labor Government committed to in 2011.
It’s no surprise Mr Dempsey continues to take credit for the hard work of others. His behaviour is a perfect fit for such a mean and tricky government.
