Granite Belt’s newest art trail opens tomorrow

A display of some of the finest contemporary art the Granite Belt has to offer is going on show, accompanied by a selection of fine wines from participating wineries, Robert Channon Wines, Ravens Croft Wines and Summit Estate Wines.
The exhibition at Nest Gallery is a collection of works from all artists involved with the art trail. Most of these artists will also have additional works on display at participating venues along Amiens Road.
Each of these participating venues has ‘adopted’ an artist for the duration of spring. The works on display are sure to appeal to a variety of tastes, ranging from paintings, to prints, sculpture and pottery.
One of the highlights of the trail is two three-metre tall chairs that have been created by Tabulam based artist, Keith Cameron. These chairs can be seen at Ravens Croft Wines and Castle Glen Wines.
The official opening of Art on Amiens will be held at Nest Gallery from 6pm tomorrow. Nest is situated at 1257 Amiens Road, Stanthorpe.
Art on Amiens will be officially opened by Southern Downs Regional Councillor Mally McMurtrie, who is also chair of the local Regional Arts Development Fund (RADF) Committee.
Art on Amiens has been made possible with the help of an RADF grant. The Regional Arts Development Fund is a Queensland Government and Southern Downs Regional Council partnership to support local arts and culture.
