A firm favourite among visitors to the Sheep Pavilion is the Ingenious Sheep Section, a creative showcase highlighting the district’s resilience in the face of recent natural disasters. Despite the ongoing challenges of low livestock numbers, the Sheep Pavilion remains committed to its long-standing tradition of presenting the region’s finest stud rams, ewes, wethers, and lambs, but now with a more innovative twist.

All Granite Belt residents are invited to participate by creating and displaying their own “sheep“ from their stud property, with a strong focus on creativity.

The Ingenious Sheep Section features three categories:

Life Size – Models must resemble the size and shape of an actual sheep.

Miniature Breed – Models must be strictly between 10 and 30 cm in height.

Sheep Farm Diorama – Participants create a miniature sheep farm displayed within a decorated cardboard or shoebox, no larger than 60 cm in length and 40 cm in height. Handmade and store-bought decorations are equally welcome in this category.

Guidelines:

Models can be created using any material, provided they can stand upright.

Entries from individuals, groups, schools, and businesses are encouraged. Collaborative efforts are highly welcome!

Prizes:

First, second, and third place winners in each category will be awarded a ribbon, a place card, and a special prize.

This imaginative competition is a fantastic opportunity to celebrate the creativity and resilience of the Granite Belt community. Join us in bringing this unique display to life!
