Stanthorpe local businesses have welcomed a move to install 18 CCTV cameras throughout the main street.
The cameras were announced in a bid to curb antisocial behaviour and violence.
No official date for the installation of the cameras has yet been set.
Stanthorpe Police are urging motorists to buckle up as Operation Seat Belts 2013 started this week.
Motorists who fail to wear their seat belts can face fines of up $330 and three demerit points.
