Stanthorpe International Club is celebrating its 60-year birthday tomorrow night alongside the formal opening of its permanent photo art gallery, all while the new Italian Consul Ms Luna Angelini Marinucci is in attendance.

Commencing at 6.30pm, International Club president Chris Reedy said the dinner dance celebrating the club’s milestone will feature live entertainment.

“With the club’s art gallery, the photos on display will be changed every so many months,” Chris said.

“We’re looking for Stanthorpe-based photos from the community – the Stanthorpe Art Gallery has generously lent us some of the photos.”

These images comprise of captured moments from in and around Stanthorpe, from sports and multicultural clubs to Rotary, Lions, and Apple and Grape, and Chris said it will be great to have the Italian Consul present to witness its unveiling.

“We invited her recently for our 150-year dinner but couldn’t come, so this is huge,” he said.

“It’s great for Stanthorpe and for the club, which has survived here 60 years and it’s in good shape – we hope to keep it here for another 100 years, we’re very lucky to have it.”

Stanthorpe is all about celebrating milestones this year, with the town’s 150-year anniversary also occurring in 2022, making the Consul’s visit to the International Club’s 60-year celebrations even more special.
