Jordan shines at Cricket Trials

Stanthorpe State School’s Jordan Lanza was a star at the 2011 Darling Downs Cricket Trials at Toowoomba Grammar School recently.
The two days of cricket allowed the best Under 12 students from all over the Darling Downs to demonstrate every skill that a cricketer has.
The boys took part in fielding drills, net sessions and two real game match situations.
Jordan took part in the trials as a member of the Darling Downs Country X1.
He had solid performances in the fielding and net sessions on day one, which were conducted in cold and very windy conditions.
But, it was Jordan’s amazing display of aggressive power batting that caught the eye of the selectors.
He took the bowlers in his batting opportunities, dispatching all bowlers to every corner of the field and outside the field on several occasions, including one massive six that hit a Mercedes Benz, oops!
Jordan has been playing cricket as long as he can remember and comes from a proud cricketing family.
He now follows in the footsteps of his older brother Hayden who also made the Under 12 Darling Downs cricket team.
