The Maryvale Morning Tea Group held a Valentine’s Day lunch at the Maryvale Hall on Sunday, February 13.
The group were extremely pleased with the result. With just 29 adults and 11 children in attendance, the event raised $1016.
May I take this opportunity to thank the following businesses of Warwick and the Maryvale store in providing ham, bread rolls, chicken, cakes and muffins. Thanks also to Spicers Gap Retreat, The Coachman’s Inn, Warwick Watchmakers and Jewellers and Enchanted Gardens for their very generous gift vouchers.
Without the generosity of these businesses the event would not have been so successful and to you all, I say thank you for not only opening your wallets but also your hearts; your contributions were very much appreciated.
My thanks also extend to the wonderful ladies who not only provided a beautiful lunch but also served and then cleaned up after the event.
To the men who helped entertain the children and to those men who helped clear the hall, I extend a big thank you. To the ladies who sold raffle tickets and to Josephine and Denis from the Maryvale Hotel for their help in selling tickets, I also say thank you.
To all who supported by buying tickets and to those 40 residents of Maryvale, give yourselves a pat on the back – job well done. The $1016 raised has been forwarded to the Salvation Army Flood and Cyclone Appeal with the hope of making a small difference to the lives of the victims of these two devastating events.
