No stranger

In answer to Ian McCoy’s letter “A Strange Story” in the April 19 edition I would like to add:
For one thing Yetis live in the snow covered alps of Nepal, and although Stanthorpe gets cold it is not cold enough for a Yeti.
Here in Australia we have Yowies.
Yowies have been sighted in the Australian bush since Adam was a boy, but Mr McCoy, I don’t believe you saw a Yeti, I don’t even believe you saw a Yowie. What I think you saw was a Yarbie, heading home after a hard night, and a note to the Yarbie, for everyone’s sake and sanity, get a haircut and have a shave, wouldn’t hurt to do something about those hairy legs either.
