The residents of Southern Downs are eagerly invited to immerse themselves in the captivating world of embroidery at the upcoming exhibition hosted by the Embroidery Guild Toowoomba.
Taking place on Friday 1 September, and Saturday 2 September, this event will be held at the Glenvale Community Baptist Church.
The exhibition, named Magical Threads of Spring, promises to be a visual feast for attendees, featuring a stunning array of embroidered and handmade items. Additionally, a selection of pre-loved stitching items will be available for purchase, providing an opportunity for visitors to acquire exquisite pieces for their own collections.
More than just a display of the members’ talents, this exhibition also extends a warm invitation to the wider community, encouraging new members to join and explore the world of embroidery.
The Publicity Officer of The Embroiderers’ Guild of Queensland, Helen Smith expressed her enthusiasm for welcoming fresh faces, emphasising the supportive and encouraging environment fostered by current members. Regardless of skill level, all individuals are encouraged to participate, as various classes are available where participants collaborate and assist one another.
“We meet in Toowoomba every Tuesday and in Highfield on Thursday and also where have a Saturday group in Toowoomba to cater for the people who work,” Helen said.
The exhibition, Magical Threads of Spring, will be open to the public from 10am to 4pm on Friday and from 10am to 3pm on Saturday. Entry is $5, which includes complimentary tea, coffee, and light refreshments. There will also be a raffle on offer for the chance to win some surprises.
